Adam Larsson, who was set to become a free agent after the 2024-25 season, will now stay with the Seattle Kraken for four more years. The 31-year-old defenseman signed a $21 million deal, with an annual value of $5.25 million, keeping him with the team through 2028, keeping him with the team through 2028.

Larsson has been a key part of the Kraken defense, never missing a game due to injury. Last season, he recorded 4 goals and 14 assists. At 6'3" and 209 lbs, Larsson is known as a steady defender with surprising agility for his size and occasional offensive skill.
The Kraken have yet to name a captain since their inaugural season. Larsson, who has served as an alternate, might now be a contender for the role. With his new contract, he could take the "C," though players like Jordan Eberle and Matthew Beniers are also strong candidates.
The Kraken have secured one of their core players for the long term, solidifying their blue line for seasons to come.
