Seattle Kraken prospect Carson Rehkopf has been traded to the Brampton Steelheads in exchange for 10 draft picks.
The Kraken's 2023 second-round pick, Rehkopf, scored 52 goals and 95 points with the Kitchener Rangers last year. He'll now join a Steelheads roster relocating from Mississauga to Brampton, which also includes fellow Kraken prospect Jakub Fibigr, Luke Misa, and projected 2025 top-five NHL draft pick, Porter Matrone.
Significant draft capital exchanged
The Steelheads are trading significant draft capital to acquire Rehkopf, sending three second-round picks, three third-round picks, three fourth-round picks, and one seventh-round pick.
Rehkopf's impressive performance
The 19-year-old has impressed at every level since being drafted by the Kraken, showcasing his goal-scoring ability during the OHL regular season, playoffs, and with Team Canada at the World Juniors. Most recently, he stood out with Canada at the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase.
Future with the Steelheads
With the Steelheads, Rehkopf aims to lead a deep playoff run and help the team qualify for the 2025 Memorial Cup.
