In the past, NHL hockey fans had little information about which players would survive the first round of cuts during training camp and who wouldn't. People used to wait the next day for newspapers and even the radio to provide updates on who would be removed from the team.
However, everything has changed with the rise of social media and the Internet, and teams are now more willing to share with the world who will be part of their team this year. This seems to be the case for Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol, who has hinted at possible first-round cuts that are imminent.
This message is pretty clear: whoever doesn't make the lineup is either on their way to the Kraken's AHL affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, or back to their junior teams in the OHL, WHL, or elsewhere.
The split-squad game will be held nearly simultaneously in Calgary and Seattle, scheduled for tomorrow, September 25th. The game in Calgary will start at 6:00 PM, while the one at Climate Pledge Arena will begin at 7:00 PM.
