Joey Daccord's journey to becoming the backup goaltender for the Seattle Kraken took an unexpected and humorous twist. After a practice session, Daccord learned of his promotion when Coach Hakstol and GM Ron Francis just missed him before he hit the ice.

With a touch of humor, Daccord shared,
"I thought things were looking pretty good when there were only two goalies on the ice."
