Last year, Seattle Kraken forward Jacob Melanson found himself in hot water, earning a two-game suspension for an illegal check on Oilers forward James Hamblin.
Fast forward to today, and Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol confirmed that Melanson is currently serving the second game of his suspension.
The NHL has given him a one-game suspension for not completing it last year.
Preseason is about making a name for yourself, and battling hard to show you are worth a spot in the roster. Things can get heated during preseason as well but there is no room in the game of hockey for dirty hits like this.
