According to insider Elliotte Friedman, it looks like the Kraken may look at hiring Dan Bylsma as their new head coach to replace Dave Hakstol.
The Kraken ended up having a disappointing season finishing outside the playoffs after a great season last year. There has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not the team will stick with Hakstol next season after GM Ron Francis' comments.
As per @FriedgeHNIC on 33 Thoughts regarding their coaching situation, "My theory is they're thinking about Dan Bylsma."
Could we see movement from the Firebirds bench to the Kraken bench this offseason?
Bylsma is a former Stanley Cup Champion as the head coach of the 2009 Penguins and has been the head coach of the Coachella Valley Firebirds for the past 2 seasons. Last year, the Firebirds lost in the finals to the Hershey Bears and this season they finished first in the league with high hopes to win the Calder Cup.
The Firebirds bench boss would be a great option for the Kraken as he has proven he knows what it takes to win a championship and has been delivering over the past 2 seasons in the AHL.
It will be interesting to see what Francis decides to do in the coming months.
