Former Coachella Valley Firebirds defenseman Mitch Reinke is set to join Eisbären Berlin of the DEL in Germany.

Reinke, who spent the 2023-24 season with the Firebirds, recorded one goal and five points in 25 games. The 28-year-old defenseman has played his entire professional career in the AHL, suiting up for the San Antonio Rampage (St. Louis Blues), Utica Comets (New Jersey Devils), and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins).
A move to Europe could provide the fresh start the Stillwater, Minnesota native needs. With playing opportunities in North America dwindling, a change of scenery might reignite his career.
Reinke was signed to a two-way contract by the Seattle Kraken on September 2, 2023, but he never played an NHL game.
Eisbären Berlin, the 2023-24 DEL champions, has won three of the last four championships, and Reinke will join their roster for the upcoming season.
