The Seattle Kraken have signed defenseman Josh Mahura to a one-year, $775,000 contract, announced on Wednesday evening.

Mahura, 26, played last season with the Florida Panthers, tallying nine assists in 30 games. He was initially selected in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft (No. 85 overall) by the Anaheim Ducks, spending his first four NHL seasons with them before being claimed off waivers in October 2022.
The St. Albert, Alberta native has accumulated 10 goals and 35 assists for 45 points in 191 career NHL regular-season games over six seasons.
Last season, Mahura played in all 82 games, recording four goals and 16 points. Prior to his time with the Panthers, the 26-year-old spent four seasons with the Anaheim Ducks.
Yesterday, the Kraken traded Brian Dumoulin to the Ducks for a fourth-round pick. Mahura will serve as a depth defenseman, ready to step in if injuries arise.
With Mahura's addition, the Kraken have now signed two defensemen from the Panthers.
