Kraken general manager Ron Francis and his management team continues to sift through the remains of this year's season Penn continues to evaluate Dave Hackstol and his staff has Seattle missed the playoffs by a staggering 17 points.
This season has been a pure disappointment for the organization as the expectation was to continue to build off their success from the year prior and become a perennial playoff contender. The team had the third lowest goals for with 217 and a goal differential of -17.
These areas must improve if the team wants to get back to the playoffs as they were 17th in powerplay efficient and 20th on the penalty kill. This could be a result of coaching which could be leading to this extended evaluation.
There is some hope on the horizon. With 15 players under contract, the kraken have 22 million dollars available to spend which several prominent talented players could be available to sign.
Only time will tell on what Francis will do, but it's clear change is needed as this team will need to get back on track and build off their success from two seasons ago.
