Tomas Tatar didn't have the season he wanted in 2023-24, but he still hold value as a third-liner in the NHL.
Tatar has a strong resume, which means that he could attract some interest around the NHL this summer. Here's the three teams that might consider adding him to their roster:
Pittsburgh Penguins:
Penguins need more offensive production from their bottom six offense if they want a bounce back season. Adding Tatar could help them on this side with the experience and skill he can bring in. He could also provide an additional option for their second power play unit.
Bruins will look to add to their scoring depth this offseason. Don Sweeney has put emphasis on the need to improve the offense in the future and bringing in a veteran like Tatar could be a good move to address that need.
Minnesota Wild:
Wild might want to pursue Tatar too. After a down season, Tatar likely won't ask for a high salary, and this is the advantage that could suits the Wild as they deal with the significant cap hits after the buyout of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter that affect them. Tatar represents a low-risk, high-reward option for Minnesota.
