Seattle Kraken Prospects to Watch in Silvertips Season

Julius Miettinen, a 6'3" center from Helsinki, Finland, had an impressive debut season with the Silvertips, becoming one of their top scorers and helping them reach the second round of the WHL playoffs. His performance caught the eye of the Seattle Kraken, who selected him in the second round, 40th overall, in this year's NHL draft.

Miettinen's precise puck handling and sharp focus lead to quick passes and numerous assists. He effectively uses his height around the crease, creating a unique defensive style that often confounds opponents. Known for his intelligence and craftiness, he avoids confrontations on the ice.

Kaden Hammell, a 6'1" right-handed defenseman from Langley, BC, was selected by the Kraken in the 5th round of the 2023 NHL draft. Named an alternate captain for the 2023-2024 Silvertips season, Hammell finished the year with 25 points, including 5 goals and 20 assists.

Hammell's fiery personality contrasts with the quieter Miettinen, but their tandem work leverages each other's strengths, resulting in several goals for the Silvertips.

Hammell's swift, aggressive skating allows him to deftly maneuver past opponents and steal the puck. His playoff performance impressed the Coachella Valley Firebirds, leading to an invitation for an amateur tryout.

The Silvertips have posted their full season schedule, with preseason games starting as early as September 6th.
