The Seattle Kraken have signed left-handed defenseman Nikolas Brouillard to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced on Monday. The deal has a cap hit of $775,000 for the 2024-2025 season.

The 29-year-old from St. Hilaire, Quebec, spent the 2023-2024 season with the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL, the New York Rangers' affiliate, recording five goals and 31 assists over 70 games. Brouillard has accumulated 128 points in 238 career AHL games.
Standing at 5-foot-11, Brouillard has also established himself as an enforcer in recent seasons, averaging 129 penalty minutes per season over the past three years, while playing nearly 70 games each season.
Before turning professional, Brouillard played three seasons with McGill University from 2017 to 2020 and helped lead the team to the Queen's Cup league championship in 2018.
