Tragic Loss: Johnny Gaudreau and Brother Killed in NJ

Meredith Gaudreau, the widow of Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau, honored her late husband in a series of heartfelt social media posts on Saturday. She referred to him as her "forever" and lauded him as the "best dad" to their young children.
Meredith shared several cherished family photos, including moments from Johnny's recent 31st birthday celebration with her, their daughter Noa, and their son Johnny.
In one of her Instagram posts, she expressed,
"Thank you for the best years of my life. Even though I've lost you, I still consider myself the luckiest girl in the world to have been yours. I love you endlessly. You were perfect, almost like a dream. I adore every single thing about you. You are my forever, and I eagerly await the day we reunite. I love you forever and ever."

Meredith continued to praise Johnny's parenting, saying, "He was the most amazing dad-so caring and loving. The perfect partner to navigate parenthood with. John never missed a single appointment. He was the best at soothing our baby to sleep and was the apple of Noa's eye. I love how much she resembles him. We will make you proud. We love you so much, Daddy."

Tragically, Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew were killed on Thursday night in New Jersey when they were struck by an alleged drunk driver while cycling near their family home. The Gaudreau family had gathered in Salem County for their sister Katie's wedding, which was set for Friday, with Johnny and Matthew as groomsmen. The events were canceled following the tragic news.
The hockey community has been reeling from the shocking loss of the Gaudreau brothers.
