In a surprising announcement from Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Washington Capitals purchased capfriendly.com which is used by many NHL fans and NHS organisations to access information regarding cap space allocation, salaries, bonuses and buyouts.
The site is quite extensive in its information And it appears the capitals were interested in purchasing it.
It won't happen until July, but according to multiple sources, the Washington Capitals have reached an agreement to purchase the outstanding CapFriendly website.
The agreement states that the site will remain active until the site is purchased on July 5th. Both parties wanted the site to remain open for the draft an for unrestricted free agency on July 1st.
Once the site has been purchased, it will no longer be available. This will dishearten many NHL fans as this information gave them access an understanding of how the NHL's financial side works.
