Andrei Tarasenko, a revered figure in Russian hockey as both a player and coach, has tragically passed away at the age of 55, as confirmed by reports from Russia. He was the father of Vladimir Tarasenko, who recently celebrated his second Stanley Cup win with the Florida Panthers.

Andrei, originally from Novosibirsk, made his mark in hockey playing for SKA and later for Yaroslavl Torpedo and Togliatti Lada, where he was a standout player in the Russian championship. Transitioning to coaching after his playing days, he contributed significantly to the KHL's Sibir Novosibirsk.
No details regarding the cause of Andrei Tarasenko's death have been disclosed.
Roman Rotenberg of Championat.com expressed condolences, highlighting Andrei's influence on his sons, including Vladimir, a prominent NHL star, and Valentin, also a professional hockey player.
In other news, following his recent Stanley Cup victory, Vladimir Tarasenko has signed a new two-year, $9.5 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings, marking his next chapter after achieving hockey glory with both the St. Louis Blues and the Florida Panthers.
