After a well-deserved break, the NHL Department of Player Safety is back in action, and they've wasted no time in announcing their first hearing of the season.

The league took to Twitter to make the announcement, stating that Arthur Kaliyev of the Los Angeles Kings will face a hearing today for a kneeing incident involving Anaheim's Chase De Leo.
The incident took place during the second period of last night's game, resulting in Kaliyev receiving a 2-minute penalty for kneeing.
Surprisingly, he wasn't ejected from the game. With this being the first such incident of the season, it's likely that a suspension will be on the horizon.
Hockey fans will undoubtedly be following this case closely as it unfolds, marking the return of the NHL's Department of Player Safety to the forefront of the new season.
