Losing these three players led to Kraken offense collapse

It was apparent that former Kraken forwards Morgan Geekie along with Daniel Sprong and Ryan Donato would have helped the team offensively as Geekie scored 17 goals with the Boston Bruins not including four in the playoffs, Sprong with 21 and Donato with 14 with their respective teams.

This loss of players helped Seattle go from the 4th overall in goal scoring two seasons ago down to 29th last year in the league. That is a serious regression for a team that was up and coming and made the playoffs in its second season in the league.

Geekie had a solid productive season with the Bruins this year as he played 76 games, scoring 17 goals with 22 assists for 39 points and was a + 6 with 28 penalty minutes he even had 15 minutes and 24 seconds of average ice time.

With the damage done, Francis will need to look hard within the NHL an the unrestricted free agency to try to find goals as the Kraken look to get back on track. It's quite likely that Shane Wright will be seen on the team all year going forward as he worked with new head coach Dan Bylsma in Coachella, who is set to take over the bench starting next season.

Several prominent free agents will be available this summer including Jake Guentzel, Steven Stamkos Sam Reinhart and Jonathan Marchessault just to name a few.

The team took a step back but it's now time to take a step forward and get back to their goal scoring ways in hopes of returning to the playoffs.
