The 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs brought disappointment for Andrew Cogliano of the Colorado Avalanche. After winning the Cup the previous year, Cogliano's team suffered a first-round exit.

To make matters worse, he endured a brutal collision into the boards during Game 6, sidelining him for Game 7 due to a hit from Jordan Eberle, who received a two-minute minor penalty with no further discipline.
Cogliano addressed reporters during training camp today, revealing the extent of his injuries. He disclosed,
"Really stiff. Headaches. Sleeping just wasn't an option, really. Pretty good pain in the back. Since your neck is so stiff you're getting bad headaches, bad migraines."

Remarkably, Cogliano is pushing himself to be ready for opening night despite the harrowing injury and its associated symptoms.
"I got a red jersey on out there, but sometimes it doesn't feel like it,"
Cogliano shared, emphasizing his determination to recover.
