The referees did not put the whistles away for Tuesday night's game for the Seattle Kraken when they took on the Detroit Red Wings. Seattle was short-handed for 14 minutes throughout the game which allowed Detroit to tie the game and eventually take the lead. Three powerplay goals were scored by the Red Wings early in the third period with tallies from Shayne Gostisbehere, Dylan Larkin, and Alex Debrincat. Detroit would spend 12 minutes on the penalty kill, giving the Kraken five power plays. Seattle's power play was efficient, going two for five with goals from Jaden Schwartz and Jared McCann. The game also saw some questionable hits as Kraken forward Tye Kartye was hit hard from behind twice during the game.

One of the hits came from former Seattle forward Daniel Sprong, who hit Kartye hard in the corner and had to answer to Brian Dumoulin. Seattle's next game is expected to be another physical one as they play the Carolina Hurricanes who play a hard-nose style of hockey.
