Back in the 2014-15 season, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare launched his NHL career with the Philadelphia Flyers at 29. Now 39, Bellemare has played 10 seasons and 700 NHL games, splitting time between the Flyers, Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Seattle Kraken.
Bellemare spent the last season with the Kraken, but injuries and healthy scratches limited him to just 40 games, where he tallied four goals, three assists, and a plus-4 rating.
As we hit mid-August, Bellemare is now a free agent after a quiet 2024-25 campaign. However, he's determined to continue playing in the NHL for at least one more season, as he recently shared with Norran's Mille Dybro.
Known for his defensive prowess, faceoff skills, and leadership, Bellemare could still secure a one-year deal or a professional tryout (PTO) contract before training camp begins. It remains to be seen if he'll find a new team ahead of the upcoming season.
