Jessica Campbell of Seattle Kraken returns to her Okanagan roots for fundraiser

jessica campbell reconnects with the okanagan for a fundraiser event

Jessica Campbell, assistant coach of the Seattle Kraken, is returning to her Okanagan roots for a charitable cause. She's taking part in a unique exhibition game, combining her coaching expertise with a passion for giving back to the community.
Campbell, who previously worked at Kelowna's RINK Hockey Academy (formerly Pursuit of Excellence) and Penticton's Okanagan Hockey Academy, is excited to coach in an action-packed game while supporting the local area.
Some of these guys I have been working with for several years, and then there are a lot of new faces and a lot of young talent coming up through this area,
she explained.
The energy is high as they're all getting ready for camp - it's really good stuff.

Campbell, along with NHL stars, warmed up for their game at MNP Place in Kelowna, B.C., as they prepared for the Hockey Fest Pro Games. This event, held on Friday, August 23, is a fundraiser designed to support the YMCA of Southern Interior B.C., bringing together professionals for a meaningful cause.
This week, funds raised will go toward supporting low-income families in our area, helping get kids involved in sports at the YMCA,
said Tammy Watson, YMCA VP of philanthropy and marketing.
It's a wonderful way to give back.

The Hockey Fest games offer fans a rare opportunity to watch their favorite NHL players team up, including Tyler Myers of the Vancouver Canucks.
As a kid, I remember watching my first few hockey games and telling my dad I wanted to play,
Myers shared.
Events like these inspire children to get involved in the sport.

Another notable participant is Okanagan hockey hero Shea Weber.
Our team is going to be flying out there - it's going to be a fun, fast-paced game,
Weber said confidently.
The Kelowna Hockey Fest begins with a free, family-friendly outdoor festival at 2 p.m. on Friday, followed by the puck drop at 6 p.m. at Prospera Place, where the NHL stars will take to the ice for an unforgettable evening.
