The Seattle Kraken have the luxury of a balanced offensive attack, giving head coach Dan Bylsma the task of finding the best lineup to deploy. Before settling on a lineup, Bylsma must decide whether a balanced offensive approach is best or if using two checking lines and two offensive lines would be more effective.

Training camp and preseason will determine the final roster before the Kraken's season opener on October 8 against the St. Louis Blues.
Balanced Attack
- Jared McCann - Matty Beniers - Jordan Eberle
- Eeli Tolvanen - Chandler Stephenson - Andre Burakovsky
- Jaden Schwartz - Shane Wright - Oliver Bjorkstrand
- Tye Kartye - Yanni Gourde - Brandon Tanev
This lineup features a mix of defensive specialists and offensive threats. McCann and Beniers form a classic sniper-playmaker duo, while Stephenson works with scoring wingers to facilitate puck transition. Wright benefits from veteran linemates Schwartz and Bjorkstrand, who help him balance defense and offense. The fourth line focuses on checking, forechecking aggressively, and pressuring the opponent's defense.
Determined Top Six and Bottom Six
- McCann - Beniers - Eberle
- Stephenson - Wright - Bjorkstrand
- Tolvanen - Schwartz - Burakovsky
- Kartye - Gourde - Tanev
In this configuration, the top six players carry the offensive load, and Bylsma deploys them in favorable situations. The bottom six focuses on checking and shutdown roles, handling defensive zone draws and countering the opponent's top lines. This approach may sacrifice some defensive stability for increased offensive output.
Younger, Offense-Driven Lineup
- McCann - Beniers - Bjorkstrand
- Stephenson - Wright - Jagger Firkus
- Tolvanen - Berkly Catton/David Goyette - Eberle
- Kartye - Gourde - Burakovsky
This youthful lineup brings excitement but is the least likely option. Goyette and Firkus might see NHL action later in the season, but injuries would be necessary for their call-up. Catton is expected to return to the WHL with the Spokane Chiefs.
With numerous offensive options, the Kraken can experiment with their lineup to rediscover the offensive success of the 2022-23 season.
