Seattle Kraken Re-Sign John Hayden to One-Year Contract

The Seattle Kraken have re-signed John Hayden to a one-year, one-way contract with a $775K AAV.
Last season, Hayden played for the Coachella Valley Firebirds, scoring 15 goals and 26 points in 65 games. In 18 playoff games, he added nine goals and 13 points.
Since joining the Kraken in 2022, the 29-year-old has appeared in nine games. Standing at 6'3" and 223 lbs, the right-handed forward has played for five teams, starting with the Chicago Blackhawks and later the Buffalo Sabres, Arizona Coyotes, and New Jersey Devils.
Hayden's one-way contract means he will need waivers to be sent down to the AHL. His size and physicality could make him an effective bottom-six player if he contributes offensively.
Hayden has worked hard to earn this contract and is expected to be eager to seize the opportunity next season.
