With the NHL offseason set to be begin, there is one Seattle Kraken who is set to hit the open market, and that is forward Tomas Tatar. This was a down year for Tatar as he only scored nine goals this past season after scoring 20 the season before. Tatar played in 70 games between the Kraken and Colorado Avalanche and finished the season with 24 points.
The first team that may sign Tatar is the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins need more production from their forwards especially on their power play as their power play struggled all season. Due to this, they may make a push for him this offseason.
The next team is the Boston Bruins. The Bruins would like to add scoring to their lineup as their General Manager Don Sweeney stated that he needs to improve the offense and Tatar could be the target for Sweeney.
The last team is the Minnesota Wild. The Minnesota Wild had a disappointing season as they failed to qualify for the postseason. Since Tatar had a down season, he may be affordable for the Wild as they are still taking cap hits for both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter buyout penalties. For the Wild, signing Tatar could potentially be a high reward.
