Kraken top prospect Shane Wright scored his first goal of the season for the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the AHL this past Saturday.

Wright was the fourth overall pick in the 2022 NHL entry draft by the Kraken. Leading up to the draft he was widely considered a top-two pick, but fell to Seattle.
After eight games with the Kraken last season, Wright tallied a goal and an assist before going back to Kingston in the OHL where he was eventually traded to the Windsor Spitfires.
In Windsor, Wright had 37 points in 20 games, and got a chance to play with Coachella Valley in the AHL for their playoff run, putting up 6 points in 8 games.
This season, Wright is back in the AHL and is expected to play a major role on their roster.
Against the Tucson Roadrunners on Saturday night, Wright scored his first goal and point of the season.
