Seattle goaltender Philipp Grubauer secured his first win of the 2023-24 season on Monday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Grubauer's last start before Monday night was against the New York Rangers on October 20th, where the team lost 4-1. In the three games last week, Joey Daccord got the nod from head coach Dave Hakstol, going 1-1-1 in his three appearances. Grubauer was tested 37 times by the Lightning, though there were a few posts hit throughout the game.

Finishing the game with a .919 save percentage, Grubauer would stop 34 shots against a high octane Tampa Bay offense. On their two power plays, the Lightning accumulated 8 shots on goal, and Grubauer stopped 7 of them. At even strength, Grubauer went 26 for 28, with Tampa piling on shots in the third period, outshooting Seattle 13 to 5 in the period. With this win, Grubauer improves his record to 1-4-0 on the season.
