The Seattle Kraken will face off against an old teammate in tonight's matchup against the Detroit Red Wings.
Daniel Sprong was not tendered a qualifying offer this summer by the team and signed a one-year contract in Detroit with a salary of $2 million.
Sprong was acquired by Seattle at the 2022 trade deadline along with a 2022 fourth round pick and a 2023 sixth round pick in exchange for Marcus Johansson.
Playing 82 games across two seasons in Seattle, Sprong tallied 27 goals and 52 points, adding two points in 10 playoff games as well.
After establishing himself as a quality secondary scorer, Sprong took his talents to Detroit, betting on himself by signing a one-year contract.
The 26-year-old winger has started his season in Detroit with two goals and two assists, finding himself a role on the third line alongside Joe Veleno and veteran David Perron.
