Kraken Matty Beniers prepared to deal with Kraken management on new contract

Beniers, his coming off from his entry level deal which had a total value of three years and $5.5 million. Now a restricted free agent, both sides will be looking for the best possible deal as Seattle is looking for a boost in his production next season.

Last season was a down year for Beniers compared to his rookie of the year campaign in 2022, he played 77 games, scored fifteen goals with 22 assists for 37 points and was a - 11. Those kinds of numbers will certainly not help his cause and it's likely that general manager Ron Francis will try to use that to his advantage.

Beniers is the cornerstone piece for the franchise and the crack and will need to acquire more pieces to build around him as the team went through a goal drought and saw a dramatic drop in goals 4 and the team missing the playoffs.

According to evolving hockey who has predicted many contracts feels that if the Kraken were to sign a long-term deal, he would be an 8-year extension worth $7.2 million AAV. Alternatively, Frances may go with a bridge deal which would see three years and $5,000,000 AVV.

It remains to be seen on how the organization will handle this signing but it's crucial that it needs to be done and not get in the way for training camp.
