PWHL Players Reflect on Seattle Reception and League's Promising Future

With the home of the Seattle Kraken sitting 1,600 miles from the nearest Pro Women's Hockey League (PWHL) team, we decided to take a closer look at the reviews following the league's inaugural season. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive:
- Minnesota Star-Tribune: "First PWHL season bigger success than anyone expected."

- Associated Press: "PWHL's strong season coincides with growing appetite for women's sports."

- Sports Business Journal: "PWHL investors, players 'ecstatic' with success."

- CBC: "The PWHL is riding high following a season in which it averaged 5,448 fans per game, including a women's hockey record of 21,105 at Montreal's Bell Centre last month; sponsorship deals with more than 40 companies."

- Ian Kennedy, The Hockey News: "PWHL managed to change the rules without angering traditionalists. The 'jailbreak' rule, Gold Plan, three-point structure for wins, Pick Your Own Opponent playoff model, bodychecking, and streaming all games for free on YouTube made the league unique, accessible, and exciting."

During the final media session of the season at the Verdun Auditorium, Montreal defenseman Erin Ambrose expressed her gratitude to the fans, saying, "Merci beaucoup!"
Ambrose, alongside New York forward Élizabeth Giguère, visited Seattle last weekend. They participated as celebrity coaches at the Seattle Pride Classic held at the Kraken Community Iceplex.
In an exclusive interview, they shared their insights on the PWHL's first season and its bright future, providing a unique perspective in this special Kraken Reaction.
