Video Shows Seattle Kraken Draft Pick at Pike Place Market

Move over, Elliotte Friedman: Twitter user @Ieafsfan might be hockey's latest insider. A video posted on Tuesday morning seems to have leaked the Seattle Kraken's pick from the Toronto Maple Leafs for the upcoming expansion draft. The video shows a fish being thrown at Pike Place Market, with Alexander Kerfoot's name read from a note attached to the fish, identifying him as the Kraken's selection.

NHL analyst Kevin Weekes is seen in the video, along with one of Pike Place Market's renowned fish throwers reading out Kerfoot's name.

ESPN's Greg Wyshynski reported on Monday that Steve Mayer, the NHL's chief content officer, confirmed Pike Place Market would be the location for one of Wednesday's expansion draft reveals.

Some speculate the Kraken might have filmed multiple reveal videos for various players, but others argue this would be unnecessary work for the team and league.

Kerfoot, who hails from West Vancouver just north of Seattle, is a 26-year-old center who scored 23 points (8-15-23) in 56 games this season with the Leafs.

The Kraken's full roster will be announced tomorrow at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on Sportsnet.
