The Seattle Kraken announced their main training camp roster yesterday. The Kraken will begin their training camp on Sept 21, 2023.
While the Kraken's roster should look very similar to last season, there are a few players looking to earn a spot as a regular on the pro team.
John Hayden is a 28-year-old forward who played in 7 games with Kraken last season. Hayden spent the majority of the season on the Kraken's minor league affiliate, the Coachella Firebirds. The gritty forward is playing in his seventh professional season. He has never played in more than 55 games as an NHL player, he will hoping to change that this season.
Devin Shore recently signed a 1 year, 2-way contract with the Kraken. The 29-year-old had a tough season with the Oilers in 2022-23. He registered 9 points in 47 games before being sent down to the Bakersfield Condors in the AHL. Shore will look to have a career resurgence in Seattle. Shore had two 30-point seasons early in his career with the Stars.
Connor Carrick signed a 1 year, 2 way contract as well with the Kraken. Carrick has great offensive ability. He will look to bring that to the Kraken. Last season, Carrick spent 1 game in the NHL with the Boston Bruins, and 63 with Providence Bruins. Carrick was excellent with Providence as he notched 48 points. If it wasn't for a stacked Bruins D-core, he would've likely seen more NHL action.
The Kraken will have their training camp running up until Oct 9th. We will see who is on the opening roster on Oct 10th vs the Vegas Golden Knights.
