Seattle Kraken General Manager Ron Francis will be met with some familiar faces on Thursday night at the Kraken take on the Carolina Hurricanes.
Francis was the General Manager of the Hurricanes from 2014-2018, laying the groundwork for a team that many consider a Stanley Cup contender.
One of the sneakiest moves by Francis was trading a 2016 second and 2017 third round pick to Chicago in exchange for the final year of Brian Bickell's $4 million contract and a young Teuvo Teravainen.
Teravainen has been with the Canes ever since and is currently leading their team in goals.
Ron Francis was the eyes of Carolina's rebuild after their contention years of prime Eric Staal and Cam Ward.
Making many draft picks in his Carolina tenure, Francis drafted NHL regulars such as Noah Hanifin, Martin Necas, and Sebastian Aho. The latter two are major contributors to a Hurricanes team that has made the Eastern Conference Final twice since Francis left in 2018.
After a prolific NHL playing career, Ron Francis has established himself as a strong NHL General Manager.
